A new Year looms. Only a few more days before party to celebrate the new year.

We’re going to need a calendar for this new year.

Our calendar gives us the month of December, the last month of the year and therefore signals the arrival of a new year starting with the month of January. This is the Gregorian calendar. But if we refer to other calendars used a few years ago, the New Year is not coming soon. For example, the Chinese calendar used until 1929 did not resemble the one we usually use.
